Privacy Policy
QRScanner is designed to work locally on your device and keep your scan history private.
Information We Handle
- QRScanner stores scan history, favorites, and personal notes only on your device.
- QRScanner stores your theme preference locally on your device.
- QRScanner can scan live camera input and QR images you choose through the system photo picker.
- QRScanner does not require an account.
- QRScanner does not upload scan history or notes to a backend server.
- QRScanner does not provide cloud sync.
- QRScanner does not include analytics in the current app configuration.
- QRScanner uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash diagnostics when the app stops working unexpectedly.
- Crash diagnostics may include device and app version information, timestamps, crash logs, and technical identifiers used to help diagnose stability problems.
Permissions
- Camera: used to scan QR codes with your device camera.
- Vibration: used to give short feedback after a successful scan.
- Photo picker access: if you choose an image from your gallery, Android grants QRScanner access only to the image you selected.
- Wi-Fi state and change Wi-Fi state: used when you choose to connect to a Wi-Fi network from a scanned Wi-Fi QR code.
- Approximate and precise location permissions: may be required by Android on some devices or versions when connecting to Wi-Fi networks. QRScanner does not use these permissions to collect or store your location.
QRScanner is designed to process scans locally on your device. The app does not sell, profile, or track you based on QR content or location.
Data Sharing
- QRScanner does not sell or share personal data.
- When you tap actions like open in browser, email, SMS, maps, share, dial, add contact, add calendar event, or connect to Wi-Fi, Android may hand the relevant content to the app or system service you selected.
- Crash diagnostics are processed by Google Firebase Crashlytics on our behalf to help monitor and fix app crashes.
Data Retention and Control
- Your saved scans remain on your device until you delete individual entries or clear your history.
- You can remove saved items from the history screen or clear all saved history from settings.
- If you uninstall the app, locally stored app data is removed subject to your device and Android backup settings.
